hello.

My name is Nicole Gatmaitan. I recently graduated Southern Methodist University with a degree in Computer Science.

Something that fascinates me is how much our lives revolve around technology. However, I know that not everyone is tech-savvy and one of the worst parts about technology is when it breaks or doesn't do what it's supposed to do. I am very interested in UI/UX design and if I could improve the ways that people interact with technology by just a little bit, then that's fine by me. Because of my background, I know all about object-oriented and modular programming using different languages including C++, Java, Python amongst others. I would like to be more proficient in the backend side of development so that I can become a full-stack developer.

I enjoy doing whatever most people in their early twenties do and spend the little free time that I have either watching Netflix or being on tumblr. I like making things look asthetically pleasing. I never really understood the whole "being too focused on what you're doing that you just forget to eat" thing until I started designing. I try to surround myself with people that make me happy because I think one of the best moments in life is when after I hang out with my friends and think back about what we did, I realize how much I appreciate everyone in my life.

A convenient way to facilitate affordable tutoring.

A collaborated project between Graphical User Interface Design and Implemenation (CSE3345) and Database Concepts (CSE3330).

College is hard. epipha.me allows college students to receive tutoring help from their peers who have previously taken the class. Users not only receive help, but they are also able to tutor to earn some extra cash.

Try something new between the covers.

It's hard to follow up with a good book to read after you've already finished an amazing one. BookUp solves that problem. This application recommends new books to users based on their preferences.
